NEW ACTROS
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new Actros heavy-duty truck, specifically designed to serve all applications in long-distance transport; previously this domain was served by two truck series, the Actros and the Axor.
The new Actros has been developed to comply with the Euro VI emissions standard. Fuel consumption in the optional Euro V variant is around 6% lower than for the predecessor model. For the Euro VI version, the figure is around 3% lower, combined with a reduction in AdBlue consumption of around 40%.
Shortly after the official introduction of the new line, Mercedes-Benz released the results of a 10,000 km long-distance comparative test drive, which showed the new Euro VI Actros (1845 BlueTec 6 model) running on 4.5% less diesel than the current Euro V Actros heavy-duty truck, with consumption of 25.9 L/100km (9.1 mpg US). Furthermore, a new model 1845 BlueTec 5 Actros (Euro V option) ran on 7.6% less diesel in the long-haul comparative test drive than the current Actros 1844 BlueTec 5 model.
